Brooklyn Nets guard Ben Simmons heads into the 2024-25 season with optimism, saying he is the healthiest he has been in a while, but not many are buying into his words, including former NBA guard Patrick Beverley.

During the latest episode of the Pat Bev Podcast, Beverley’s co-host, Rone, tried to discuss Simmons’ latest workout videos. But before Rone could finish, Beverley cut him off with an NSFW rant about the beleaguered Brooklyn Nets guard.
“Ay man. Aint nobody trying to hear that sh*t… Nah, you gotta show us buddy. And you gotta show us for at least 60-something games. We ain’t on that. I ain’t tryna hear that sh*t. Nah, no more talkin, no videos. On the court, I need to see it!… Corny a– n—a man,” Beverley said.

Ben Simmons only played 15 regular season games last season due to a lingering back problem, averaging 6.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per contest on 58.1 percent shooting from the field.
It was previously reported that the Brooklyn Nets plan to give him another chance. However, Simmons will face stiff point guard competition from Dennis Schroder, Cam Thomas, and Killian Hayes.
Ben Simmons approaches contract year with the Brooklyn Nets
Ben Simmons will earn roughly $40.3 million this upcoming season before becoming an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2025. Despite having the pressure of playing for a new contract, Simmons is confident he can have a huge year.

“I want to compete and help my teammates win. Being in positions like that, obviously, you want to do what you can and get what you have, and that’s what I did last year,” Simmons said during media day, via The New York Post. “Whether I was healthy or not, I tried to do what I could for the team while I had an opportunity to play.”
“I feel amazing. Physically, I feel fine. I’m ready to go,” he reiterated.
