To say that Brooklyn Nets star Ben Simmons‘ career has fallen off a cliff would be an apt description of how the tables have turned significantly on the former Rookie of the Year over the past few seasons.
Simmons’ NBA 2K rating has, unsurprisingly, taken this same trajectory as well. From having an 87 overall rating in NBA 2K21, the three-time All-Star has now dropped to a 66 in the latest iteration of the game.
NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, however, believes that Simmons should get an even lower rating.
Brooklyn Nets News: Shaq Trolls Ben Simmons Again

Let’s just say that O’Neal is not a very big fan of Simmons. The Hall of Fame center, who happens to be an LSU alumni just like Simmons, has heavily criticized the Nets star multiple times in the past.
This time around, Shaq took a more light-hearted yet equally savage jab on Simmons’ NBA 2K rating:

No mercy from Shaq.

I guess the only silver lining here is that Simmons is still just 27 years old. As always, there’s a lot of optimism about a healthy year ahead for the former No. 1 overall pick after his 2023-24 campaign was cut short by a season-ending back injury. Ben may have fallen off a cliff lately, but he still has more than enough time to redeem himself in Brooklyn.
You can be sure that Shaq will be there to keep a close eye on Simmons every step of the way.
