Bryce James may have his work cut out for him as he attempts to follow in his father and older brother’s footsteps and make the NBA.
Bronny is already with the Los Angeles Lakers, but he’s getting mixed reviews from fans and the media due to the circumstances surrounding his draft position. The only way his brother would be able to silence the noise is through his play in the NBA.
Meanwhile, his father is nearing the end of his career. While LeBron James is still an amazing basketball player at 39 years old and is still doing wonders for Team USA, it’s only a matter of time before he finally hangs them up.
With such a situation ahead of him, some may find it hard to see Bryce getting a ride to the pros like his older brother did. However, a more recent ranking places the young shooting guard in a much better position to solidify his position with his NBA dreams.
Bryce James makes the Top-100 rank in On3’s 2025 recruiting class
The Spun’s Kameron Duncan wrote an update on the recruiting status of the second son of the James household, and the signs are pretty encouraging for fans of the family:
James’ younger son Bryce is in the Class of 2025, and he’s been ranked as a four-star recruit.
According to On3, Bryce James is the No. 100 overall recruit in the class and the No. 21 player at his position. He’s also listed as the No. 8 player in the state of California, where he attends Sierra Canyon in Chatsworth.
James is also considered a four-star recruit by ESPN, while Rivals has him as a three-star.
247Sports reveals that Duquesne and Ohio State have offered the 6’4″ guard a scholarship to join their squad, while the USC Trojans are also interested in bringing Bryce to their team. Unlike the first two programs, they haven’t extended any offers his way.
It will be interesting to see how Bryce James’ college career will play out. If his brother performs poorly in his rookie campaign, he may have to outplay him in college to get even a sniff of the 2026 NBA Draft.
