Jaylen Brown doesn’t seem to happy with one standout exchange with Giannis Antetokounmpo in their Sunday encounter where his Boston Celtics won over the Milwaukee Bucks, 113-107.
The 2024 Finals MVP called the Greek Freak a child after the latter pulled off a playful fake handshake in the game. The gesture was made right after Giannis elbowed Brown in the facing during an offensive attack, leading to him getting called for an offensive foul.
While Brown appears he’s not in the mood for a little joke, Antetokounmpo insisted that it was just his attempt to lighten up the mood.
“This is who I am. I play the game with fun, joy… I think he’s an incredible player. Does the right thing to help his team win… If I’m called a child, so be it,” he told reporters when asked about his gotcha moment on brown.
Antetokounmpo also talked about he is trying to stay youthful as he is being surrounded by his kids and nieces.
He insisted that he will continue having fun on the court and:
“If I had another opportunity, I’d do it again.”
Fun is something the Bucks will continuously chase these days are they just fell to 2-8 in the standings after that loss to the Celtics.
Antetokounmpo topped both teams in scoring with 43 points.
The Celts and the Bucks will meet again on December 7 for their encounter this season.
Giannis Antetokounmpo a menace for Celtics
The whole Celtics organization must be finding unamusing Antetokounmpo these days. Aside from that antics on Brown, they are particularly unhappy with the way the referees are overlooking his dangerous play.
Coach Joe Mazzulla said the Bucks star should have been called for a flagrant foul for sticking his foot on Jayson Tatum’s landing spot.
Tatum himself turn to X to express his dissatisfaction for that non-call.
“Smfh🤦🏽 some calls you just not supposed to miss,” he wrote.
