WNBA star rookies Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese gave inspiring advice on how future players aspiring to be like them persevered in their fresh years in the professional league. Clark, Reese, and their fellow batchmates move on from the rookie class as new players arise in the 2025 season.
Clark and Reese made their names in the previous season, garnering popularity from many people but simultaneously proving themselves to be a formidable force on the court. Clark, playing for the Indiana Fever, became this season’s ROTY, while Reese, playing for the Chicago Sky, is the rebounding leader, averaging 13.1 rebounds.
The two leading rookies were featured in an article by The Players’ Tribune, sharing their experiences in the previous season as well as giving some message to the future class of WNBA players:
“Allow yourself some grace – you ’11 learn, you’ll catch on, and you’ll get comfortable as time goes on. Have fun; it goes by so fast, so you’ve got to soak it in,” Clark said. “It doesn’t matter what number you get drafted; it matters where you get drafted,” Reese said.

Caitlin Clark invited by new women’s basketball league
The success and popularity of Caitlin Clark can undoubtedly make her prone to many offers. During this WNBA offseason, Clark was reported to be a target from the 3×3 women’s basketball tournament Unrivaled and is even willing to give her a blockbuster offer for her to consider.
Unrivaled, who had acquired fellow WNBA players such as Kelsey Plum and Angel Reese, is willing to surpass its limits to acquire Caitlin Clark. Clark would be given “a salary of over a million dollars for three months of work, to equity and revenue sharing,” by the report of Front Office Sports.
By making this “Messi-like” offer, the Unrivaled aims for a similar “Caitlin Clark effect” to boost its popularity and ticket sales, benefiting their broadcasting partner, TNT Sports. This offer would make it more convincing for Clark, who is rising in popularity, to join the league.
However, it’s still hazy if Clark would indeed join Unrivaled. She had already previously implied that she wouldn’t join any other leagues during the offseason and would prioritize rest and pursuing other activities.
Lately, Caitlin Clark has also shown interest in playing golf. She even said she wants to be a professional golfer if she thoroughly pursues it.
