Caitlin Clark might soon get a new teammate from her former team the Iowa Hawkeyes according to a rumor by social media influencer, Rachel A. DeMita. According to DeMita’s theory, the Indiana Fever will hopefully recruit Lucy Olsen who is playing for the Iowa Hawkeyes currently.
DeMita dropped the theory mainly citing the fact that Lucy Olsen had been invited to meet with the Indiana Fever front office on Sunday, during the celebration of Caitlin Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes jersey retirement.
“The entire Indiana Fever front office and coach Stephanie White were in attendance. And you think of course they’re there to support Caitlin, but maybe they were also recruiting. I present to you Lucy Olsen.” Rachel A. DeMita said on her X account.

Currently, Caitlin Clark’s former team, the Iowa Hawkeyes are ranked 12th in the Big Ten table with a 5-6 conference score and 15-7 overall. Lucy Olsen joined the Iowa Hawkeyes in 2024, and before that played for the Villanova Wildcats from 2021 to 2024. In the ongoing college basketball season, Olsen is averaging about 16.4 points in each game, grabbing 3.5 rebounds and assisting five times in every matchup.
Caitlin Clark’s Former Team To Meet Minnesota Golden Gophers Next
Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark’s former team, the Iowa Hawkeyes are gearing up to meet the Minnesota Golden Gophers to continue the college basketball schedule. In their most recent matchup, Iowa met the USC Trojans and spectacularly won with a final score of 76-69.
In that game, Lucy Olsen was the lead scorer for the Hawkeyes, chalking up 28 points, and grabbing four rebounds while assisting four times. Addison O’Grady put up 13 points, with four boards and a single helper, while Sydney Affolter managed to contribute 11 points for the team with nine rebounds.
This will be the first time that the Iowa Hawkeyes are meeting the Minnesota Golden Gophers in this college basketball season. The last time the two teams met, the Iowa Hawkeyes won against the Golden Gophers with a final score of 108-60.
The Iowa Hawkeyes are definitely an incredible team, and are mainly known for producing the legendary Caitlin Clark who is now playing for the WNBA’s Indiana Fever. Apart from Clark, the Hawkeyes have also produced many other superb players like Megan Gustafson, Samantha Logic and Gabbie Marshall.
Of course, Clark is perhaps the most famous alumni of the University of Iowa, which is currently hoping to send another young star to the WNBA’s Indiana Fever, in Lucy Olsen, if recent rumors are actually true.
