Caitlin Clark and Connor McCaffery’s relationship began during their time at the University of Iowa, where both were standout athletes—Clark leading the women’s basketball team and McCaffery playing for the men’s basketball team. They went public with their relationship in August 2023, sharing their first official post together on Instagram.
More recently, Lexie Hull also got engaged to her boyfriend Will Matthiessen. The couple, who met during their time at Stanford University, shared the exciting news through an Instagram post featuring a seaside proposal. Matthiessen, who played in the Pittsburgh Pirates’ minor league system before retiring in March 2024, arranged a romantic setup with white roses and rose petals on the beach before getting down on one knee.

The Indiana Pacers secured a thrilling 119-118 overtime victory over the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 5, clinching the first-round playoff series 4-1. The game was defined by a dramatic 8-0 run in the final moments of overtime, led by Tyrese Haliburton, who blew past Giannis Antetokounmpo for the go-ahead layup with 1.3 seconds left.
WNBA Commissioner Talks About Physicality Around Caitlin Clark
In an interview, WNBA Commissioner Cathy Englebert opened up about the topic of increased physicality Caitlin Clark received during her rookie season with the league.
“I think that narrative became the narrative,” Engelbert said. “We have a really exciting, fast-paced, physical game. The physicality, I think, surprised a lot of the new fans that came in.”
“I think it was very physical at first for a lot of new eyes on the game. I think there were, unfortunately, some inappropriate plays that happened. Over the course of the whole season, I think Caitlin really adjusted well. So did Angel, because Angel, it was very physical for her too.”
“I think all of our rookies adjusted to the physicality of the game, and I think our fans didn’t adjust as quickly.”

For fans and analysts, Caitlin Clark’s rookie season in the WNBA has been defined by intense physicality, with people believing that her high-profile status has made her a target for aggressive defense.
