Indiana Fever superstar guard Caitlin Clark was among the thousands in attendance at Gainbridge Fieldhouse Sunday night to watch the Indiana Pacers host the New York Knicks.
During a moment in the game, Clark got the camera’s attention while she was sitting courtside. Knicks legend and color commentator Walt “Clyde” Frazier then made a hilarious quip about being able to “stop” her on the court.
“She doesn’t look that formidable,” Frazier joked. “I could stop her.”

Frazier, who is a Basketball Hall of Famer and part of the only two Knicks teams to win NBA championships (1970, 1973), is already 79 years old. It’ll be tough to side with him in a theoretical 1-on-1 game between her and Clark, who just came off an incredible rookie season in the 2024 WNBA campaign. Either way, Frazier is respected and beloved in all corners of the basketball realm.
Caitlin Clark can be a Hall of Famer one day — just like Walt Frazier
During an NBA career that spanned 13 years, Frazier averaged 18.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 6.1 assists through 925 games with the Knicks and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Clark could be a Hall of Famer one day just like Frazier. There is a long way to go for her, but she’s already off to a great start, having averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 dimes, and 5.7 boards in 40 games for the Fever in the last WNBA campaign.
