Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark may soon be coming to the NFL. However, she won’t be suiting up and exchanging body slams with the likes of Patrick Mahomes. Rather, she is expected to play a role in the discussion about the league’s interest in flag football.
A recent report by Front Office Sports revealed that Caitlin Calrk is set to sit down at the annual NFL meeting in Florida, along with other big names in sports, to discuss the NFL’s interest in flag football, among other things.
Caitlin Clark, along with Serena Williams, Eli Manning, and Mellody Hobson, will be participating in a session for NFL team owners and personnel.
“Flag football is a high priority of ours. It’s an opportunity for young women to participate in our game and as we look forward, there definitely seems to be an appetite and interest in a professional flag league for both men and women,” NFL EVP Jeff Miller said to the publication. “So it’s a continuation of the growth in women’s sports, and the role that the NFL can play in it.”
Flag football is a variation of American football where players wear flags attached to their waists instead of tackling one another to end a play. Instead of physical contact like in traditional football, defenders aim to remove the flag from the ball carrier to stop the play.
“We don’t get an opportunity to talk about this enough, just the explosion of women in sports,” said Troy Vincent, NFL EVP of football operations. “This is happening across the globe, and we want to continue that conversation among our membership.”

Fans React to Caitlin Clark Meeting With The NFL
Social media took the news of Caitlin Clark’s potential NFL future, and some fans could not blame the football league for taking advantage of “the Caitlin Clark effect.”
One fan said: “The NFL is no fool they are the best at maximizing revenue it was only a matter of time before they wanted a piece of Clarkomics 😂 & their piece of women’s sports boom. They know young girls love CC & she can be a major force in getting girls interested in playing flag football”
