In case you missed it, Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark will not be part of the Team USA contingent that will represent the nation for the upcoming Olympics in Paris. This is despite the fact that the 22-year-old has firmly established herself as one of the top players in the entire WNBA — as a rookie.
One man who refuses to let all this fly without sharing his brutally honest thoughts on the matter is Colin Cowherd.
Colin Cowherd Rips Into WNBA Over Caitlin Clark Treatment

Speaking on a recent episode of his show, The Herd, Cowherd went all-out in thrashing the WNBA for their supposed mistreatment of Clark. The renowned sports broadcaster has trouble coming to terms with the fact that the league refused to include the Fever guard in the Olympic team, which according to Cowherd, is a clear manifestation of its pettiness.
“Caitlin Clark last night had 19 assists IN A GAME to set a league record,” Cowherd started (h/t Wil Leitner of Fox Sports 97.9 FM). “he’s breaking records every week. Part of the silliness of not allowing her on the Olympic team is she was a very quickly improving player and now you kind of look silly.
“She’s arguably the best playmaker in the league, arguably the best three-point shooter in the league – I don’t know – those seem valuable in Olympic competition, and she’s not on the team.”

Cowherd did not stop there. He then went on to call out the league for supposedly demanding that Clark earn her dues when in the first place, it is the WNBA that has been earning boatloads of money because of this young lady’s emergence as one of the most popular athletes on the planet.
“It’s almost hard rooting for women’s basketball,” Cowherd continued. “It cracks me up how they treat her. If you really think about it, they’re trying to get her to pay her dues but she’s the one paying all the fees. She’s the reason why you’re flying private. She’s paying for everything and you want her to pay her dues? It’s really ridiculous.”
Love him or hate him, you can’t really say that Cowherd is completely in the wrong here.
