Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever are all aiming for a championship this 2025 season, and part of that endeavor is a few changes in the training regimen for the entire roster. Clark admitted that she is not used to doing one specific routine as part of her training.
In a recent press interview, Caitlin Clark admitted she was not used to doing one part of her current training program.
“I’m not used to this,” Clark jokingly said, talking about full-court defense. “I don’t do that.”
Caitlin Clark says assistant coach Briann January has been challenging the Fever defensively, including things like picking up their person at 94 feet.
She joked, “I’m not used to this. I don’t do that.”
But said that she’s taking the challenge.

Despite being in unfamiliar territory, Clark also made clear that she is up for the challenge.
Recently, in her guest appearance on Sue Bird’s podcast, Clark already hinted that she was working on developing her full-court defense.

Full-court defense is a highly aggressive basketball strategy where defenders apply pressure on the opposing team across the entire court, rather than waiting until they reach half-court. This approach aims to disrupt the offense early, force turnovers, and create fast-break opportunities for the defending team.
As reported by ESPN reporter Alexa Philipou, one of the first things Caitlin Clark asked for from the coaching staff of head coach Stephanie White was to develop a strategy on what she could improve in her game.
“One of the first things that Clark did with the staff was sit down in the film room,” Philipou said. “And they really dissected her game film to be able to figure out what were the areas that she really need to work on. And White actually told me that Clark asked for the scout report that they used against her when White was with the Sun last year.”

Caitlin Clark Talks Physical Improvement: “I Feel A Lot Stronger”
In a recent press interview, Caitlin Clark talked about the viral photo of her with seemingly bigger arms than ever, which she admitted to being a part of her current physical goals.
“That was my biggest focus on the offseason, just trying to get stronger and really working on that,” Clark said. “Really thankful for Sarah, our strength and conditioning coach, she’s put in a lot of time with me.”
“I certainly feel a lot stronger, and you know I’m a pretty self-aware person. I knew that was going to be a huge part of it. And I hope it helps me offensively and defensively. Hopefully it helps me not get as tired throughout games…”
