Caitlin Clark is returning to court action under the Indiana Fever, and this time, she won’t be short of support and firepower as the Fever’s front office has worked hard in building a roster that could prove worthy of not only making the playoffs but, hopefully, the championship. Recently, the Fever signed on a returning WNBA star for training camp, too.
The Indiana Fever recently announced that it has signed former Phoenix Mercury star Jillian Alleyne to a training camp contract.
While this does not mean a full contract to play for the team with the main roster, this serves as an opportunity for Alleyen to hone her skills further and eventually sign a full contract with the team later on.
Over at Instagram, Alleyen shared the news of her contract announcement on her story and added a caption that showed her gratitude for the opportunity.
“All glory to God! God is good! Super excited to get to work!,” she wrote on Instagram.
The Phoenix Mercury selected Jillian Alleyne as the 20th overall pick in the 2016 WNBA draft. Although she had an outstanding college career at the University of Oregon, where she received three All-Pac-12 honors and was named the 2016 Pac-12 Co-Player of the Year, she had limited opportunities in the WNBA.

She played briefly for the Minnesota Lynx in 2019 and the Washington Mystics in 2021, appearing in only seven games across her WNBA career. Injuries and team roster constraints contributed to her limited playing time, leading her to explore opportunities outside the league.

Most recently, Alleyne played for Tarsus Belediyesi Mersin in the Turkish Super League during the 2024-25 season, averaging 18.6 points, 13.8 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game.
Jillian Alleyne’s WNBA departure wasn’t due to a lack of skill, but rather the difficulty in securing a consistent position within the highly competitive league. Her success playing overseas has renewed interest in her, leading to a training camp contract with the Indiana Fever.
Caitlin Clark Gets New Teammates to Help Dominate in 2025 WNBA Season
The Indiana Fever have made significant roster moves to strengthen their team around rising star Caitlin Clark, with the goal of building on their playoff appearance in 2024.

The Fever added depth and versatility to their roster by trading for Sophie Cunningham and Jaelyn Brown, and by acquiring experienced veterans, such as five-time All-Star and WNBA champion DeWanna Bonner and three-time WNBA champion Natasha Howard, who is known for her defensive prowess.
With these strategic additions and investments, the Fever are positioning themselves as serious contenders in the WNBA, with Caitlin Clark at the center of their ambitions.
