Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark paid respect to tennis legend Serena Williams as the two sat side-by-side in a recent panel discussion event.
Clark and Williams were part of a recent panel discussion by the NFL. While exact details of the panel discussion were not publicized, it was reportedly about the football league’s plan to take full advantage of flag football.
On Instagram, Williams posted snapshots of the event, including a selfie of her and Clark.

Clark went to the comments section and threw in a goat emoji and a few hearts emojis as well.
The NFL is deeply invested in the growth of flag football due to its accessibility, inclusivity, and potential to expand the sport’s global reach. Flag football is a non-contact version of American football, making it safer and more appealing to a broader audience, including women and youth.

The inclusion of flag football in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics is a significant milestone, and the league is actively supporting its development through initiatives like the Global Flag Football Ambassadors program.
Serena Williams is also connected to the WNBA as she has joined the ownership group of the Toronto Tempo, the WNBA’s first Canadian expansion team, set to debut in the 2026 season.

In a statement, Williams announced her ownership role in the league’s new expansion team. “This moment is not just about basketball; it is about showcasing the true value and potential of female athletes,” she said. “I have always said that women’s sports are an incredible investment opportunity.”
Serena Williams Has Long Supported Caitlin Clark
Even in her early days in the NWBA, tennis legend Serena Williams has always expressed support for rookie Caitlin Clark. When she was starting out in the league, Clark faced significant criticism and bullying during her rookie year in the WNBA despite her remarkable performances on the court.
As the Indiana Fever’s star player, she quickly became a target for opposing teams, often enduring physical fouls and aggressive defensive tactics aimed at shutting down her game. Clark ranked among the most-fouled players in the league, which raised concerns about her safety and the lack of protection from referees.

In one interview, Williams praised Clark for her ability to remain grounded despite external forces always trying to challenge her.
“I think it’s so important to just keep doing what she’s doing,” Williams said. “If people are negative it’s because they can’t do what you do, basically.”
