Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark got honest about her favorite sports event outside of basketball. The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year did not go far, as she still picked a sport that she has shown interest in playing for.
In her recent guest interview for the 2025 Masters Tournament, Caitlin Clark shared her honest feelings on why she puts the prestigious golf event on the top of her list of sports events that are not basketball competitions.
“I honestly would probably put it [the Master’s tournament] number one, and I think it’s just so different than everything else,” Clark said. “There’s really just nothing like this, and I think, honestly, the aspect of like not having your phone is so unique.”
“Like, you can tell everybody is so invested, and they’re really just there to watch the greatness of the athletes. And even the golfers talking about it after their rounds, like they feel a different level of engagement from the fans too and how invested they are.”
The 2025 Masters Tournament was the 89th edition of this prestigious golf championship, held from April 10 to April 13 at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. This event is one of the four major championships in professional golf and is renowned for its rich traditions and iconic Green Jacket awarded to the winner.

This year, Rory McIlroy claimed victory after a dramatic sudden-death playoff against Justin Rose, completing his career Grand Slam—a feat achieved by only six players in history.
Caitlin Clark Praises Augusta National Golf Club
In the same interview, Caitlin Clark also expressed awe at being at the Augusta National Golf Club.
“I think it’s one of the most magical places I’ve ever been in my life.,” she said. “Honestly, like I think it’s that special, and everybody knows that whether you’ve been here or not. But once you really step foot on this whole course, this entire area, like it just puts into perspective how special this place really is.”

The Augusta National Golf Club, located in Augusta, Georgia, is one of the most prestigious and iconic golf courses in the world. Established in 1933 by Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts, the course was designed by Jones and Alister MacKenzie.

Caitlin Clark has developed a notable interest in golf, finding it to be a refreshing escape from the pressures of professional basketball. She has spoken about how the sport helps her reset mentally and maintain focus, drawing inspiration from athletes like Steph Curry, who also uses golf as a way to recharge.
