Caitlin Clark is back home in Iowa, and her former team did not miss the opportunity to impress their former teammate and alumna, as they wiped the floor with the USC Trojans.
During the game that also served as the event to honor Caitlin Clark and retire her jersey, the Iowa Hawkeyes won over the USC Trojans with a final score of 76-69. Senior Lucy Olsen carried the team with 28 points, followed by seniors Addison O’Grady and Sydney Affolter with 13 and 11 points, respectively.
As she was already at the event, Caitlin Clark took a photo of the victorious moment and posted it on her Instagram story, adding a caption: “Something bout it😏”
Though they lost, the USC Trojans still put up a good play, led by JuJu Watkins with 27 points and 5 rebounds.

After the game, the crowd gathered once more for the program to honor Caitlin Clark and her legacy in Iowa and the Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball team. Her jersey, #22, was hung up the arena.

Caitlin Clark on Dealing With Critics: “It’s Just Life”
In a press conference following the event that retired her Iowa Hawkeyes jersey, Caitlin Clark was asked about how she deals with the criticism thrown her way, particularly with people commenting on the statements she has been giving lately.

“I think it’s just life,” she said. “Everybody goes through some of the things that I’ve gone through, a lot of people go through a lot worse. I just try to remind myself every single day how grateful I am to be in the position I am, I want to treat everyone the same way that I would want to be treated.”
Nobody’s faced or handled scrutiny better than Caitlin Clark the last 18 months
As for what she’s learned about herself:

Caitlin Clark added: “I feel like one of my greatest skills is I really don’t care. I believe in myself, I’m confident in myself, I’m confident in my teammates, I try to instill that in them, I’m confident in the coaching staff of whatever team I was on, whether that was [at Iowa], whether that’s at the Fever now.”
