Caitlin Clark looked back at the moment where she admitted to have gushed over, realizing that she has her own highlight in a major publication.
In her guest appearance for an episode of “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman” on Netflix, Catilin Clark looked back to her game against Michigan that is generally considered to be her breakout game.
“Coach Bluder wasn’t even that mad that we didn’t win. She was like, staring at the TV like, ‘Oh my gosh,’” Clark said. “Everybody was just kind of in awe. Even i was like ‘Wow, we’re on SportsCenter. We made SportsCenter top 10.’ I would stay up as a kid and watch that. So, I think that was definitely kind of my ‘Oh my gosh’ moment for sure, but I didn’t realize it at the time, probably.”
Caitlin Clark‘s breakout game against Michigan was a historic moment in her college basketball career. She scored an incredible 49 points, breaking the NCAA women’s all-time scoring record and setting a new single-game scoring mark for Iowa. The game ended with a 106-89 victory for the Hawkeyes, and Clark also contributed 13 assists, showcasing her all-around dominance.
What made this game special was not just the records she broke but the way she played—with deep three-pointers, creative assists, and an undeniable energy that electrified the crowd.

Caitlin Clark Talks of “Privilege” in Netflix Interview
In the same interview, Caitlin Clark also talked about the long-running controversy of “white privilege” attached to her name.
“I’m obviously white, but I think I’m somebody who grew up a huge fan of this league,” Clark said. “I grew up watching this league, going to games, supporting this league. So I know where this league comes from: a lot of Black women that grew up making this league what it is. And that’s kind of the shoulders that we stand on.”
“So I think that was something I’m very aware of, and something I’m very thankful for. And they deserve all the credit, and the more we can give credit to them, the better. I’m very aware of that, and I know that, and I think there is responsibility in acknowledging that.”

In the past, Caitlin Clark also faced a mix of praise from fans and backlash from critics for her take on her “white privilege” during a recent interview with TIME magazine for her Athlete of The Year award.
