Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark reconnected with her Iowa Hawkeyes roots this Monday, practicing with her former coach, Raina Harmon. The throwback encounter is part of Clark’s preparations for the WNBA in May, seeking to refine her impressive performance from last season.
Harmon, the Hawkeyes’ assistant coach, became crucial to Clark’s development with the team. She, along with the then-head coach Lisa Bluder, helped Iowa advance to the national championships twice.
In her previous Instagram story, Harmon shared a photo of her, Caitlin Clark, and their friend after their rigorous training.
“Pulled up on my dawg and she was WORKING! Them scary hours gon have them’ like 😱,” Harmon captioned.
Clark then re-posted Harmon’s story, commenting, “Family.”
The now WNBA star guard indeed found family in the Hawkeyes. The team allowed her to excel in college, and Clark solidified her talent and legacy with the help of veteran coaches and reliable teammates.
Caitlin Clark also garnered numerous national awards, leading Division I in most average points and assists thrice. In March 2024, she surpassed Pete Maravich to be the all-time points leader in the NCAA, with 3,951.

Clark averaged 28.4 points, 8.2 assists, and 7.1 rebounds for four seasons with the Hawkeyes. The Fever soon drafted her in the 2024 WNBA draft, where she brought them to their first playoff stint since 2016.
Caitlin Clark’s new teammate ready to support Fever this season
Caitlin Clark gained an ally through Sophie Cunningham, who joined the Indiana Fever via trade in January. Arriving at the Fever’s Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Tuesday, Cunningham spoke highly of Clark and the Fever and is eager to support them in the upcoming season.
“When you’re trying to do something great, it takes everybody. And so I want her to do her thing,” Cunningham said during an interview.

“Anything she needs from me, I’m gonna be here. But again, I think that just the competitor that I am, I’m fierce, I’m sassy, I stick up for my teammates, stick up for myself. Sometimes, I think that it’s okay to be feisty and to be yourself,” Cunningham added.
Cunningham, who was once with the Phoenix Mercury, averaged 8.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.0 assists last season. Her playmaking and defensive skills became one of the Fever’s motives in acquiring her. She is also a capable shooter, averaging 42.9%, including 31.7% from downtown.
