These namesakes refer to her friends and teammates, Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull. IN the video, Cunningham can also be seen munching on some candy and seemingly having a serious good time with it. In her shared post, she revealed that it was a Starburst.
“One could possibly believe that was the best Starburst I’ve ever eaten, my gosh,” she said in her post.
Sophie Cunningham, a five-season veteran of the Phoenix Mercury, joined the Indiana Fever in the 2025 offseason. The four-team trade that brought her to Indiana also involved the Connecticut Sun and Dallas Wings. The Fever, aiming to build a winning team, added Cunningham along with experienced players DeWanna Bonner and Natasha Howard. Cunningham shared her enthusiasm for joining a team focused on acquiring competitive players with a winning mindset.
Her first days with the Fever were busy, as she was introduced to the media and immediately began training with the team. Bonner, who previously played with Cunningham in Phoenix, reacted positively to her arrival, showing support for her new teammate. “She’s done a lot, and that rookie class, to bring attention to our league, and it’s needed. That’s what we’ve always wanted. Why would we not embrace them and make sure they’re good?”
