Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark gave a simple but stern warning to the WNBA as she hosted the championship game for the women’s basketball finals of the NCAA Tournament.
In the finals game of the NCAA Tournament, which was played between the UConn Huskies and the South Carolina Gamecocks, WNBA legends Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi hosted the game alongside reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark.
Following a full-court press play, Clark commented that it would be something that people could expect from her more, particularly for the 2025 WNBA season.
“That’s gonna be me this year,” Clark said. “Picking up full-court, guys.”
“Yeah, watch out.”

The UConn Huskies claimed their record 12th NCAA women’s basketball national title with a commanding 82-59 victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks. From the outset, UConn’s defense set the tone, limiting South Carolina’s offensive rhythm and forcing turnovers.

South Carolina, despite entering the game as reigning champions, struggled to find consistency. The Gamecocks shot just 34% from the field and had no player reach double figures until late in the fourth quarter. UConn’s relentless defensive pressure and efficient shooting proved too much to handle.

Azzi Fudd led the charge with 24 points, while freshman Sarah Strong delivered a standout performance with 24 points, 15 rebounds, and five assists. Paige Bueckers, in her final collegiate game, added 17 points and surpassed Maya Moore for the most career NCAA tournament points by a UConn player.
Caitlin Clark Prasies Fever HC During NCAA Finals
During the same game where Caitlin Clark was one of the co-hosts, the Indiana Fever star gave praise to her team’s head coach, Stephanie White, who she called “one of the smartest basketball minds.”
“[Stephanie White] is one of the smartest basketball minds I’ve ever been around and everybody knows that across the league,” Clark said during the live commentary. “Everybody admires her and the way she coaches, the way she leads.”

Stephanie White has had two stints as the head coach of the Indiana Fever in the WNBA. Her first tenure was from 2015 to 2016, during which she led the team to the WNBA Finals in 2015, though they fell short against the Minnesota Lynx. She compiled a 37-31 record during this period.
After coaching at Vanderbilt and the Connecticut Sun, White returned to the Fever in 2025 to lead a retooled roster featuring young stars like Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston.
