Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever recently said goodbye to Temi Fagbenle, who was recently drafted to the Golden State Valkyries. While the news definitely is exciting for Fagbenle, it meant leaving a gaping void for Clark and the rest of the Fever team. Fagbenle was, of course, not the only Indiana player who was drafted by the Valkyries.
Quite lately, Clark also had to say goodbye to Kate Martin, who was also drafted to Golden State, the WNBA’s latest franchise. To commemorate the occasion, Fagbenle took to Instagram to put up a heartfelt message bidding her goodbye to the Indiana Fever, and thanking her teammates for their support.
“To my teammates: we had a season of revelations and growth. So proud of y’all for persevering. Thank you for lifting me and each other. F the noise. Keep growing together. Thank you for the consistent energy, Indy fans. Y’all are solid 🔥🙏🏾. Very grateful. Very blessed.” Fagbenle posted.
“Love ya tem! Gonna miss you ❤️,” Caitlin Clark commented below the post. (Source: Temi Fagbenle’s Instagram)
Temi Fagbenle who is playing center for the Golden State Valkyries, boasts a 6.4 point average with 4.7 rebounds and 0.9 helpers in every game played. Fagbenle is coming to the Valkyries with quite a bit of experience, having played for the Minnesota Lynx in 2017 and then in 2018-2019. Fagbenle managed to join Indiana Fever for the 2024 season.
Jason Whitlock Compares Caitlin Clark To Peyton Manning
Renowned journalist, Jason Whitlock loaded praises on Caitlin Clark after calling comparisons between the Indiana Fever star and Peyton Manning, former quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts. Manning became the star of Indianapolis soon after joining the Colts back in 1998. Whitlock feels that the people of Indianapolis feel the same way about Clark today.
Whitlock went on to say that Manning changed Indiana from a ‘basketball state to a football state’, and that now Clark ‘will turn Indiana into a women’s basketball mecca’. Clark has been impressing WNBA fans after being drafted into the Fever, despite having a shaky start to the season.
Clark was soon crowned ‘rookie of the year’, beating Angel Reese, who was also a strong contender for the position. With Caitlin Clark on their team, the Indiana Fever made it to the playoffs, with their previous playoff appearance being in 2016. Clark is currently busy doing non-basketball things in her offseason, such as playing golf pro-ams, much to the delight of her fans.
