Caitlin Clark achieved another career milestone. The Indiana Fever rookie made it to the cover of Time Magazine’s “Inspiring Women” edition.
The 22-year-old found herself in the company of elites as she joined some of the most successful and influential women today on the cover of the popular news magazine. She features alongside singers and songwriters Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish, tennis legend Serena Williams, actresses Halle Berry and Selena Gomez, and other notable female celebrities and sports figures.

The special edition of the magazine had the title, “Time Inspiring Women,” and the subtitle, “Changemakers for a better world.”
Women’s basketball in both college and professional levels had seen a rise in viewership thanks in part to Clark’s performances. The recently ended WNBA season, in fact, enjoyed a significant boost in viewership and corporate sponsorship. 23 games surpassed one million viewers last season, and Clark was involved in 20 of them.
The league had not seen a game that averaged over one million viewers since 2008 until last season.

Caitlin Clark named Rookie of the Year
Caitlin Clark became the NCAA’s all-time scoring leader in her final season at Iowa, making her the unanimous first pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. The expectations placed upon her were overwhelming, but the Indiana Fever guard overcame the pressure and managed to transition into the professional level, earning herself the distinction of being Rookie of the Year.
Clark took the Fever to their first-ever playoff appearance since 2016. She led the team in average points (19.2), assists (8.4), steals (1.3) and minutes played (35.4), while ranking third in rebounds (5.7). She also became the first-ever WNBA rookie to record a triple-double—a feat she accomplished twice in a single season.

The former Iowa Hawkeye finished first in total assists last season (337), also effectively breaking the league’s single-season record for the same statistic. She also ranked first in three-pointers made (122) and fifth overall in total number of points (769).
Unfortunately, her postseason ended early when the Connecticut Sun eliminated them in the first round of the playoffs with a clean sweep. Her absence in the playoffs had somewhat affected the league’s viewership numbers.
During this offseason, Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier’s Unrivaled league set to debut in January is looking to sign Caitlin Clark with the hope that the viewership she gathered in the WNBA will help bring prestige to the upcoming three-on-three tournament.
