Former Iowa Hawkeyes star Caitlin Clark sent her congratulations to an Iowa colleague who marked a new milestone in their sports career.
Will McIntire, who was with the Iowa Hawkeyes during Caitlin Clark’s time at the university, reached another step in his coaching career. His most recent career milestone is his new role as an assistant coach for Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). He joined the staff of Raina Harmon, who was named FGCU’s head coach in April 2025. McIntire’s hiring was officially announced by the Eagles, marking a significant step forward in his coaching career.
Over at Instagram, Caitlin Clark shared to her story the post announcing the new position of McIntire, and added her fire caption to it.
“Yeahhh Willy🔥,” Clark captioned the post, tagging McIntire.
Will McIntire is a basketball coach who has steadily climbed the ranks in collegiate coaching. He started his journey with the Iowa Hawkeyes, where he worked as a student manager before transitioning into a graduate assistant role. Later, he became the director of scouting and technology for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights women’s basketball team ahead of the 2024-25 season.

In a new video posted on Instagram by the Indiana Fever handle, Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell, and Aliyah Boston delivered a strong message to for the 2025 WNBA season.
“I think that we play basketball the right way,” Clark said. “We love playing in front of our fans. We’re building a championship-winning team. We’re excited about it, we’re excited about all the pieces that we’ve added.”
“A great coaching staff and we’re fired up and working hard and I think we play basketball the right way and we give our fans a lot to cheer about and we love our teammates and work really hard.”

Guard Kelsey Mitchell also shared her message, with a focus on sticking together.
“I think the one thing that people should know about the Fever is that we’re young, we’re vibrant, we have the personality in which we want to win,” Mitchell said. “We know that we’ve come a long way regarding our culture, and I think for us, we want to beat that team that people know about, that has no filters, no anything. We are who we are and, at the end of the day, we’re going to stick by each other.”

Power forward Aliyah Boston had the perfect way to close the video with the strongest impact.
“That we’re taking over the world,” Boston bluntly said.
Caitlin Clark is expected to have a stronger roster built on Fever’s star players like her, as they head to the 2025 WNBA season.
