Brent Clark, father of WNBA star Caitlin Clark, attended Sunday’s preseason game between the Indiana Fever and Brazil’s national team at Carver-Hawkeye Arena—the court where her rise to prominence began.
During the match, Brent was on ESPN’s broadcast, where the reporters asked him about his feelings on how Clark had grown since the start. The Iowa coach candidly expressed pride in his daughter’s accomplishments.
“It’s just what we’ve seen over the last few years (that I’m proud of). And I think that’s what’s special. And I think the fact that you’re seeing it here in Iowa City, it’s sort of the epicenter, if you will, of women’s basketball right now. Hopefully, that’s just going to carry over to the W,” he said.

Brent also appreciated how Caitlin Clark is welcomed everywhere, particularly from her college team, the Iowa Hawkeyes. The preseason game itself drew a whole house of 14,998.
“It’s certainly special, and I think it’s almost like you never left,” he said. Whether it’s Caitlin or whether it’s another athlete — they love it. It’s kind of their professional team, and that’s what makes it a fantastic experience every time you come,” Brent added.
Caitlin Clark scored 16 points, six rebounds, and five assists in the preseason matchup, where the Fever had dominated Brazil 108-44. Kelsey Mitchell scored 17 points, while Aliyah Boston had 11.

The Fever also won their previous matchup against the Washington Mystics, 79-74. Clark never played that game due to a leg injury.
Indiana will face the Atlanta Dream on May 11 for their final preseason match, then the Chicago Sky on May 17 for the season opener.
Fever HC reacts to Caitlin Clark’s iconic three in preseason match
Caitlin Clark had been vital in the Indiana Fever’s enormous 108-44 win against Brazil’s national team. However, during the game, Clark also shocked the nearly 15,000 spectators with her 36-foot three-pointer, precisely when she broke the NCAA’s all-time scoring record.

During the post-game interview, Fever head coach Stephanie White praised Clark’s iconic shot from downtown. She even mentioned NBA star Stephen Curry to highlight her star guard’s boldness and efficiency.
“That’s just who she is,” White said.
“I mean, nobody tells Steph Curry not to take good shots, right? When you’ve put in the work and you know your range, that’s part of what makes her special. It’s not just the distance, it’s the timing, the feel, and the confidence. You don’t coach that out of a player like her.”
Reporter questions Stephanie White on whether she should reign in Caitlin Clark’s logo 3s, and her response is the best response ever!!

While Caitlin Clark and the Fever have one more preseason game, their domination against Brazil already says a lot. They’d prepared a lot for the upcoming season, and it’s already paying off.
