Caitlin Clark and the lack of appreciation she has gotten from the WNBA is a stark contrast to how the PGA Tour handled the rise of Tiger Woods to stardom, as pointed out by analyst and critic Jason Whitlock.
In one of the recent episodes of his program “Fearless,” Jason Whitlock compared the superstar potential of Caitlin Clark and her impact so far on the WNBA to that of Tiger Woods for the PGA Tour. However, he highlighted how the WNBA is not handling the potential of Clark as well as the golf industry handled Woods.
“I’m not saying these guys in the WNBA should kiss Caitlin Clark’s butt, but we’ve seen this before. We saw it with Tiger Woods when he hit the PGA Tour. And it wasn’t that the PGA Tour was losing money, but after some initial, very slight initial push back from a Fuzzy Zoeller or maybe a couple of handful of other players, everybody in the PGA Tour fell in line.
“And it was like, man, look what Tiger has done for us. Look at all this new money and attention that’s come into the game of golf because of Tiger Woods. And so they competed against Tiger, but they all respected Tiger. They weren’t trying to tear Tiger down. They weren’t running around saying, ‘I’m the real reason these white men aren’t being celebrated enough.’”
“They celebrated, respected Tiger, and competed against him at a high level. No one bent the knee and just kissed the guy’s butt.”

Analyst Points WNBA’s Mistake in Handling Caitlin Clark’s Superstar Status
In the same episode of his podcast, Jason Whitlock also talked about how the WNBA has mishandled the superstar potential of Caitlin Clark, as he believed that the league focused on race agenda and rae warsa rather than celebrating a beloved athlete that brough int revenue tot he league, like what the PGA Tour did to golf legend Tiger Woods.
“There’s a way to handle when a superstar shows up, takes your business, your industry to a new level,” Whitlock said. “We saw it with Tiger Woods and the PGA Tour. We’re not seeing it in the WNBA. We’re seeing a bunch of women hate on Caitlin Clark.”

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever recently dominated the Brazil national team in an exhibition preseason game in preparation for the tip-off of the 2025 WNBA season. In recent social media posts, both Clark and the Fever as a team have made bold statements declaring that they are gunning for a championship this season.
