In one of the recent episodes of her podcast “Straight to Cam,” Los Angeles Sparks star Cameron Brink shared one middle school experience where she almost got stabbed.
“I have a crazy school story in middle school,” Brink said. “A kid like tried to stab me with a pair of scissors [because] I wouldn’t stop talking, I think.”
“That’s why this kid got And he was like ‘If you don’t shut up I’m going to do something.’ I was like ‘Bitch make me.’ And he got me with a pair of scissors and the police came. It was crazy.
“I went to a sus middle school,” she added. While they did not name the school, they did mention in the podcast that it was in Oregon.
In one of the previous episodes of her podcast, the Sparks star opened up about her recovery journey from her ACL injury, which she described as a “whirlwind.”
“Honestly, like, it’s been a whirlwind. But I feel like now people don’t talk about it as much,” she said. “This is the hardest part for me because I’m just finally starting to do the jumping, the running, and the cutting slightly.”
“I went on a run the other day, running for four minutes and then walking for one minute. When I tell you, I’ve never been so gassed in my life!” Brink said. “I’m like, I’m not an athlete right now. The same thing with shooting—I’m not making shots; I feel like I’m just having to relearn everything.”

Cameron Brink Grateful for WNBA Salary
With issues of the pay gap and players demanding better pay in the WNBA, Cameron Brink is able to look at the situation in a different light. In a previous interview, she expressed being “grateful” for her WNBA salary, citing humble roots as a factor in having this point of view.
“My mom was the first to go to college in her family. My grandma worked three jobs as a single mom. I do not take that money for granted,” Brink said. “That is good money. That is a salary that we work very hard for.”

Cameron Brink is expected to have a comeback in the 2025 WNBA season.
