Being sidelined has its own silver linings—and for Cameron Brink, one of those came in the form of an unexpectedly sweet moment with a young fan at the LA Sparks’ Sunday night game against the Chicago Sky.
Cameron Brink, still recovering from knee surgery following an ACL injury that cut short her rookie season, wasn’t suiting up for the matchup. But that didn’t stop her from being present. Courtside at Crypto.com Arena, she cheered her team on as they secured a crucial 91-78 win over Angel Reese and the Sky.
Before the game tipped off, a heartwarming exchange caught attention on social media. A young girl, donning a Sparks jersey with Kelsey Plum’s number, walked up to Brink and handed her a small gift bag. Inside? A handmade friendship bracelet.
A video shared on Instagram captured the wholesome moment, with the post captioned:
“I got to give Cameron Brink a friendship bracelet! She’s so cool! 💜🤭”

Clearly touched by the gesture, Brink smiled and responded, “Oh my goodness! This is so sweet,” before hugging the fan in return.
Moments like these highlight Brink’s connection with the fanbase—something that’s only grown stronger during her time off the court. While she continues her rehab, it’s clear she remains deeply involved with the team, the community, and her journey back to full health.
Cameron Brink Backs Sparks From the Bench, Cheers on Teammates
Though she wasn’t suited up, Brink was locked in as her Sparks earned their second win of the season. She made her support known postgame by sharing the team’s victory post on her Instagram story, and even reposted the WNBA’s highlight of teammate Kelsey Plum’s standout performance. Plum dropped 28 points, grabbed two boards, and dished out eight assists while shooting an efficient 50% from the field.

With Brink still recovering, all signs point to her taking her time to return stronger. The Sparks will next face the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday, while Brink continues her steady road to recovery. She’s expected to be back in action later this season, with two more matchups against the Sky—on June 24 and June 29—circled as potential comeback targets.

For now, Brink remains an inspiring presence both courtside and online, proving that even in recovery, she’s still very much a part of the Sparks’ heartbeat.
