Candace Parker, former WNBA player, recently put up a post basically lamenting the NFL’s Chicago Bears passing on Patrick Mahomes in the NFL 2017 draft. Parker is a huge Chicago Bears fan, and has often been vocal about this in her interviews and even social media.
Parker posted a video clip of Mahomes performing in his pro day with the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Chicago’s scouts who were present during that particular pro day chose to pass on Patrick Mahomes in the draft. While the Kansas City Chiefs managed to smartly bring in Mahomes to their squad, the Bears somehow wound up with Mitchell Trubisky from North Carolina.
“How did the Bears watch this and not draft @patrickmahomes.” Candace Parker captioned her Instagram post, along with a clip of Mahomes managing a beautiful 80-yard pass in his Pro Day for Texas Tech.
The Chicago Bears are definitely regretting not getting Patrick Mahomes to their squad. With Mahomes on their side, the Kansas City Chiefs managed to win the Super Bowl twice. In the previous NFL season, the Bears finished last in the NFC North after winning only five games and losing 12 so far. Meanwhile, the Chiefs finished first in the AFC West with a 15-2 record, eventually losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl.
