Carmelo Anthony heaped huge praise on Jimmy Butler after the Miami Heat star got suspended for seven games. Butler wanted a trade from Miami so badly, but he did not get his wish. Despite requesting a trade on January 2, the Heat suspended him for instances of conduct detrimental to the team.
Butler will not play until January 17, and Carmelo Anthony believes that the issue is going to get out of hand. The former NBA star stated that Butler is a hard-working and disciplined player. He also mentioned that something is probably going on with Butler.
“Jimmy works extremely hard. Four or five times a day, five in the morning. He’s very disciplined. I’ve seen him. I’ve been around him. This ain’t the Jimmy that I know,” Anthony said. “Something is going on with Jimmy, and people need to get in front of that,” Carmelo Anthony said.
“This ain’t the Jimmy that I know. Something’s going on with Jimmy. Best thing to do is part ways. This is going to get ugly because Jimmy’s not a guy that’s going to back down. He’ll start forcing his way. If you don’t trade him that Miami shit’s gonna get nasty” @carmeloanthony pic.twitter.com/XMjqFC50rZ

There have been a few issues between Miami and Butler. According to Carmelo Anthony, the team’s president has been hesitant to extend or trade him for various reasons. Carmelo Anthony said that things would get ugly since Butler is a guy who will force his way.
“Pat, (the) best thing to do is just part ways, man. This is going to get ugly because Jimmy is not a guy that’s going to back down. He’ll start forcing his way, and then if you don’t trade him during the deadline, that Miami s**t is gonna get nasty,” Carmelo Anthony continued.
Carmelo Anthony Thinks The Lakers Will Be The Best Fit For Jimmy Butler
It’s clear that Butler wants to part ways with the team. As Carmelo Anthony says, it’s probably right for the team to consider giving him up. Anthony also believes the Los Angeles Lakers will be the perfect fit for Jimmy Butler.
Anthony feels the Lakers’ veteran team would make them the right choice for Butler. Playing alongside LeBron James would be a great fit for Butler.
“I’m sending Jimmy to the Lakers’ best-fit Lakers,” Anthony said. “You got a veteran team, you got veteran guys on your team. They need defense, you could bring that, you bring toughness and you can go get it. Bron don’t want to have to keep going and get it all. Like AD (Anthony Davis) is going out there doing what he’s doing. You put Jimmy alongside!” Carmelo Anthony said.
It remains to be seen if Miami will trade or retain Butler. For now, he has to play with the team, and his next appearance will be against the Denver Nuggets.
