Charles Barkley and JJ Redick have been the subject of a wild exchange of words for the past few days, and the ‘Round Mound of Rebound’ is not slowing down on his tirade against the Los Angeles Lakers after losing to the injury-riddled Dallas Mavericks, who played without Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.
As the final buzzer sounded, the Lakers lost by a wide margin of 21 points against the Mavs, led by Quentin Grimes picking up the slack with 23 points, nine rebounds, and six assists. PJ Washington was not far away with 22 points and eight boards, while Spencer Dinwiddie chipped in with 19 markers, nine dimes, and six boards.
On the other side of the fence, the Lakers shot 45% from the field and a dismal 31.4% from beyond the three-point arc. 40-year-old LeBron James did his part with another near triple-double of 18 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists, while Anthony Davis finished with 21 points and 12 rebounds.
The Lakers dropped their second-straight game and during the Inside the NBA post-game program, Charles Barkley didn’t hesitate to criticize them for the poor outing.
“The Lakers proved what I’ve kept saying. The Lakers stink, plain and simple, ” Barkley said. “We got to speak about them because the media is infatuated with the Lakers. But the Lakers are not a good team. They have zero athletic ability. When you watched them, Jason Kidd coached a masterpiece tonight.”

What Charles Barkley said to JJ Redick after blaming the media for NBA’s low ratings
The NBA ratings have been a major issue back in December, and JJ Redick had an opinion that the media was to blame for heavily criticizing the league. This reached the ears of Charles Barkley, who is in a position to give out a valid opinion with his basketball hall-of-fame credentials, and had a very interesting choice of words to the Lakers head coach.
“[JJ Redick] said something about we’re the reason people ain’t watching this crappy product we got … yeah, us, like we’re out there jacking up 100 threes a night,” Charles Barkley said.
The former league MVP didn’t hold back and went to tackle Redick’s status as Lakers head coach saying that he is just a ‘dead man walking’ after the team fired Frank Vogel and Darvin Hame even after bringing the team to decent accomplishments.
“JJ, you come for the king, you better not miss. Because I can get you, brother. Remember, I got your Lakers games. You can’t hide them flaws they got. You’re just a dead man walking. They got rid of Frank Vogel who did a good job, they got rid of Darvin Ham who did a good job. But you came out there thinking you were gonna change things with that same ugly girl you went on a date with,” said Charles Barkley.
