Former Philadelphia 76ers star Charles Barkey didn’t hold back when rapper Lil Dicky answered which team he thinks will win the championship in the 2024-25 NBA season. Barkley appeared as a guest on Jason Kelce’s “They Call It Late Night” on Saturday where he made fun of his former team.
Philadelphia native Lil Dicky talked about his unwavering support for the group throughout the program. “I still think the Sixers can turn things around if they’ve dealt the right cards,” the rapper said.
The former NFL star told Chuck that Lil Dicky is a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles as well as the Sixers. When the current analyst for TNT heard the mention of Philly’s basketball team, he didn’t hesitate to flame the rapper.
“Well, you’re gonna die,” Barkley told the rapper. “It’s not even going to be that hard.
The actor of the popular sitcom “Dave” put his money on the squad to win the Larry O’Brien trophy and maintained his position, saying he hasn’t given up.
“I might die, but I hope not,” Lil Dicky replied, “I have such blind optimism when it comes to Philadelphia sports. For whatever reason, I just bet $750 that the Sixers are gonna win the NBA championship… It sucks, but I believe in them.”
Lil Dicky went on to give various situations to Barkley about how the Sixers can turn things around. This led to Barkley adding this comment:
“That’s a lot of ifs. G*d d*mn! That’s a lot of ifs brother.”
The former MVP persisted in disparaging the Sixers, criticizing Joel Embiid, their franchise player, for being unable to play consecutive games.
Lakers head coach clapped back at Charles Barkley’s comments
JJ Redick, the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, was recently ridiculed by Charles Barkley for his remarks on the NBA’s declining viewership. Barkley also mocked Redick’s coaching, calling him a “dead man walking.”
“You can’t hide them flaws they got. You just a dead man walking, Barkley exclaimed. “They got rid of Frank Vogel, who did a good job. They got rid of Darvin Ham, who did a good job. You came out there thinking you were gonna change things with that same ugly girl you went on the date with.”
On Friday, Redick addressed the comments made by one of the hosts of “Inside the NBA.”
“I didn’t make it all the way through the clip, I gotta be honest with you,” Redick said before the Lakers hosted the Atlanta Hawks. “My resting heart rate is probably 64. I watched the clip, it was 64. Literally don’t care. I have other thoughts, but don’t care.”
