The Charlotte Hornets decided to retain Miles Bridges during free agency due to his loyalty, and he has shown it recently when Draymond Green lashed out at some comments about their North Carolina-based team.
In a recent interview on Jeff Teague’s podcast on “Club 520”, the Golden State Warriors forward said that his preferred trade destination would be the Detroit Pistons due to his roots growing up in Saginaw, Michigan and playing for the Michigan State Spartans back in college.

While Green could have stopped saying that the Pistons is his preferred trade spot, he also commented that he doesn’t want to be traded to the Charlotte Hornets.
“I pray to God if [the Warriors] ever feel the need to get rid of me. … If they [are] going to send me to any non-winning organization, then send me to Detroit…than Charlotte [Hornets].”
Seeing this interview, Miles Bridges, a Michigan State Spartan alumni, can’t let this statement pass; he just had to tag Draymond Green in his social media reply on X.
“Hey @Money23Green,” posts Bridges with three dirty finger emojis.

Miles Bridges stays with Charlotte Hornets
The 25-year-old Miles Bridges had quite some ups and downs in his basketball career and when the Charlotte Hornets could just easily give up on him after getting involved in a sexual assault case, the team still kept the six-foot-seven forward.
After ending his rookie contract in the 2021–22 season, Bridges was forced to sit out the following year due to his case. Returning for the 2023–24 season, the Hornets gave him a one-year, $7 million deal.

Taking the golden opportunity to redeem himself, Bridges rewarded the Hornets by averaging 21.0 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 69 games. Paying his dues, the Hornets gave him quite a bag with at three-year, $75 million deal.
The Hornets are slowly building their young core with LaMelo Ball as the cornerstone piece but the tall point guard has been injured. Brandon Miller is expected to have a better season after wetting his feed in his rookie year, averaging 17.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists.
Owning the sixth overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, the Hornets opted to take Tidjane Salaun from France, hoping to make him their starting small forward.
More than anything, Bridges now has a contract extension that he sought two seasons ago and will continue serving the Hornets franchise until 2028.
