Charlotte Hornets star LaMelo Ball is in a heap of trouble right now. This is after news broke on Tuesday that the 22-year-old will be taken to court by a Charlotte family for allegedly running over the foot of an 11-year-old fan during a failed autograph session.
If proven guilty, this could have a massive impact on the former Rookie of the Year‘s very promising career.
Charlotte Hornets News: LaMelo Ball Facing Legal Trouble
According to a report by Charlotte news outfit WSOCTV, Ball ended up breaking the foot of 11-year-old Angell Joseph after the Hornets guard ran over it with his car. Joseph was reportedly waiting for Ball for an autograph, which the 6-foot-7 point guard refused before he sped off in his vehicle:
A family is suing LaMelo Ball and the Hornets after LaMelo allegedly drove over an 11-year-old fan's foot and broke it while he was waiting for an autograph.
The fan's mother says LaMelo didn't sign anything and that he sped off in his car.

Thankfully, the boy is reportedly doing fine — except for a broken foot, of course. According to his mom, the family expects Angell’s rehab process to be physically and emotionally challenging, which is one of the reasons why they have decided to sue LaMelo for his actions.
Neither the Hornets nor Ball’s camp have released an official statement amid this stunning turn of events. Both sides are likely meeting with their respective legal counsels to determine the best way to approach this incident moving forward.
To be clear, these are all allegations at the moment. As they always say, the accused should remain innocent until proven guilty. Then again, there’s no denying that this is an awful look for LaMelo.
