Chicago Bulls news: Despite not being selected in the top 10 of the 2024 NBA Draft, there’s no doubt that Matas Buzelis is still over the moon. In fact, you could argue that the 19-year-old is even more delighted about the fact that he went 11th overall to the Bulls than he would have been if he were drafted higher.
After all, not too many players get the opportunity to play for their hometown team.
Chicago Bulls News: Matas Buzelis Gets All Emotional
After being selected by the Bulls, the Hinsdale, Illinois native had to hold back the tears as he expressed how elated he was to be coming back home to Chicago:
“I’m blessed, man,” he said. “This is what I wanted, I wanted to be here. Thank you to the Bulls organization. I’m ready to work, man. I was born for this.”

Buzelis took the NBA G League Ignite route as opposed to going to college. He clearly impressed in his single season with the Ignite, and it’s the Bulls who have taken notice the most.
Matas Buzelis Sends Message to Naysayers
Buzelis then had a special message for anyone and everyone who’s ever doubted him. The 6-foot-10 forward thanked all his naysayers for motivating him to be an even better player:
“Thank you to everyone that doubted me because I wouldn’t be here without y’all,” he said. “I use it as fuel.”
The Bulls appear to have scooped up a real one here.
