And this point, it is clear that the relationship between Zach LaVine and the Chicago Bulls is beyond repair. It’s no secret that the Bulls have been trying to trade the two-time All-Star, but it is now being reported that there appears to be no path back for LaVine to return to Chicago next season.
It is also clear that the 29-year-old himself has no intention of playing for the Bulls ever again.
Zach LaVine’s Relationship With Chicago Bulls Is ‘Completely Shattered’
According to team insider Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, the union between LaVine and the Bulls can only be described as “completely shattered and filled with mistrust” (h/t Legion Hoops on Twitter):
“The Bulls continue shopping LaVine to anyone that picks up the phone… LaVine and his representation at Klutch Sports feel like they were misled on possible trade destinations, and the Bulls thought LaVine ‘opting’ for season-ending right foot surgery when rehab on the injury was still on the table was a counterpunch thrown below the belt,” Cowley wrote.
There’s clearly bad blood brewing between both sides, and it is obvious that there’s just no coming back from this.
The issue now for the Bulls is that the market for LaVine isn’t what they had hoped for. This new report only puts them in an even weaker position to negotiate with opposing teams that could be interested in LaVine now that these said teams know how desperate Chicago is to part ways with their soon-to-be former superstar guard.
