Like Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark, Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese is out there making history in her first year in the WNBA. Head coach Teresa Weatherspoon, meanwhile, has revealed the forward’s mindset amid her historic streak.
Reese made headlines recently by recording her 13th consecutive double-double, surpassing the previous record held by Candace Parker. During the Sky’s 84-71 loss to the Seattle Storm, Reese finished with 17 points, 14 rebounds, and 4 steals.

The game started with the Sky jumping out to an early 12-3 lead in the first quarter, but the Storm fought back and trailed by just 8 at halftime, 39-31. In the second half, the Storm rallied with a 16-2 run led by Nneka Ogwumike and Jewell Loyd to take a 5-point lead in the third quarter.
The Sky were unable to contain the Storm’s hot shooting, falling behind by as much as 14 in the fourth quarter. However, they mounted a 14-3 run to cut the deficit to 3 points with under 3 minutes remaining. But the Storm responded with a 12-0 run to close out the victory.
Ogwumike finished the game with 24 points and 13 rebounds, while Loyd added 20 points for the Storm. Despite the loss, Reese’s historic performance highlighted her consistency and commitment to helping her team, even as a rookie.
