Chicago Sky rookie forward Angel Reese is the best offensive rebounder in the WNBA today and it is not even close. She added to her case on Thursday, albeit in a 91-76 road loss to the New York Liberty, where she finished with 10 rebounds, including five on the offensive glass.
With that, Reese just became the fastest WNBA player this millennium to pull down at least 100 rebounds, per StatMamba:
Angel Reese is the fastest WNBA player to record 100 offensive rebounds since 1999.
On top of the rebounding total, Reese also had 10 points to extend her double-double streak.
Meanwhile, Chennedy Carter led the Sky with 22 points on 10/21 shooting from the field while Marina Mabrey had 15 points on 5/9 shooting.
Reese now has a total of 104 offensive rebounds this season. No other player has more than 65. That’s how incredible Reese’s rebounding prowess on the offensive end of the floor is this campaign and there is no sign of her slowing down. She also leads all players with regular minutes in the league with a 13.6 percent offensive rebounding rate.
Fans react to Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese’s latest WNBA feat

Despite her incredible success in rebounding her team’s misses, Reese continues to get criticized online. Nevertheless, that should just be added motivation for the rookie out of the LSU Tigers basketball program.
“😂😂😂😂 nobody has missed as many easy layups and grabbed their own boards off of them this quickly before. What a stat”
“She doesn’t make anyone around her a better player.”
“Is she also the fastest to missing 150 shots (she’s missed 155 so far. Might explain the 100 OREBs). She is 112/267 with 80% coming inside the paint.”
“I mean, kudos. But pretty easy when you miss layups often and get your own rebounds. 🤷♂️”
