San Antonio Spurs star point guard Chris Paul may have a long list of options for where he could take his career next season, but one analyst has a fair idea of what he may do.
In one of his segments on ESPN, analyst Brian Windhorst weighed in on what Chris Paul may do following a mediocre run with the San Antonio Spurs this season. From coaching to taking on an off-court role, Paul has all the skills and experience to make an impact, regardless.
However, for the analyst, the chance of him playing again is likely.
“He’s got all the options on the table,” Windhorst said. “I think the Spurs would love to have him back, I think he could go sign with another team, I think he could go coach in the league, I think he could be in the studio with us if he wanted to be. But knowing Chris Paul, he’s gonna want to be on the court because he can still make an impact.
“That’s where the most money is still.”

The San Antonio Spurs’ chances of making the postseason in 2025 are slim. They are currently ranked 13th in the Western Conference, trailing the final play-in spot by three games. With injuries to key players like Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox, the team has struggled to maintain consistency. Additionally, their recent performance has been challenging, with losses piling up and their playoff odds no longer listed by sportsbooks.

This bonus was triggered by the team’s 32nd win of the season, which they achieved in a victory against the Denver Nuggets. Chris Paul‘s performance in the game was impressive, contributing 17 points, five rebounds, eight assists, one steal, and two blocks.

The bonus is part of Paul’s contract, which includes incentives tied to team and individual performance benchmarks. Despite being in his 20th NBA season and turning 40 soon, Paul has maintained remarkable consistency, ranking 8th in the league in assists and achieving 51/38/94 shooting splits.

Chris Paul has been a steady presence for the San Antonio Spurs throughout the 2024-2025 season, playing in 68 games so far. He has averaged 8.8 points, 7.8 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game, showcasing his playmaking abilities and leadership on the court.
