Because of their dominance in the league, the Cleveland Cavaliers are among the favorites to win the 2025 NBA title. With the best record of 55-10, the Cavaliers are in first place. They have also experienced several victory streaks during the 2024–25 season. Experts are beginning to have faith in Cleveland’s collective abilities as the postseason draws near.
One of the people who have expressed their appreciation for how the Cavaliers have played this season is former NBA player Brandon Jennings. On Thursday, he talked about what has made the team successful on the show “Gil’s Arena.” Jennings also spoke highly of how the team can apply pressure against their opponents in the playoffs.

“What’d I say, Donovan Mitchell wasn’t a No. 1 option a championship team, and he’s proving it. The team is well put together. Darius Garland, he’s playing crazy. Donovan Mitchell, he might not be having the numbers like a MVP, but his leadership and the way he got his team behind him, I mean, they’re for real,” Jennings said.
“If I’m the Bucks or whoever got to see the Cavs in the Finals, you should be a little worried.”

The Cavaliers recorded their second 15-game winning streak of the season on Tuesday, further solidifying their supremacy. Their victory over the Brooklyn Nets was 109-104. They aim to continue their winning streak against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday.
Their performance this season has caught the attention of critics, and they now expect more from the Cavs.
The Cleveland Cavaliers believe Darius Garland deserves more respect

One of the reasons behind the success of the Cleveland Cavaliers is the play of Darius Garland. This season, he’s been a reliable source of production, averaging 21 points, 2.6 rebounds and 6.7 assists. The point guard has also been efficient for his team, knocking down 47.7% of his shots from the field and 41.1% of his 3-pointers.
On Tuesday, the Cavaliers didn’t have their All-Star guard, Donovan Mitchell. This left Garland to do most of the heavy lifting for the team and led them to a win. He finished the game with 30 points, four rebounds, eight assists and four steals. This included an 18-point fourth quarter.
After the game, head coach Kenny Atkinson spoke highly of what Garland did and even called him the Clutch Player of the Year.
“He’s the clutch player of the year,” Atkinson said. “He just does it in the fourth quarter. He’s done it all year.”
In the Cavaliers’ second 15-game win streak, Garland only appeared in 13 games, averaging 18.2 points and 6.2 assists.
