The Cleveland Cavaliers need all hands on deck to overcome the powerful Boston Celtics, but there seems to be a chance that they won’t even have not just one but two of their best players available for Monday night’s Game 4 of their second-round series versus Jayson Tatum and company.
Latest Injury Updates for Cleveland Cavaliers Stars Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen Ahead of Game 4 vs Celtics
According to Tim Bontemps of ESPN, both Cavs stars Donovan Mitchell and Jarrett Allen have not been seen on the court during the morning shootaround at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
“No Donovan Mitchell or Jarrett Allen on the court here at Cavaliers shootaround when the media is let in. Both are questionable for tonight’s game – Mitchell with a calf strain, Allen with a bruised rib.”
The Cavaliers have been bucking the absence of Allen due to a rib injury. He is questionable for tonight’s game at home and has yet to see action in the Celtics series. Mitchell, on the other hand, is also listed as questionable with a calf issue.
Cleveland can’t afford to have Mitchell sidelined, as he has been the only consistent performer on the team. So far in the second round, Mitchell is leading his team with 31.7 points per game on an exceptional 51.5 percent shooting from the field. If Mitchell can’t go, the likes of Darius Garland and Caris LeVert will have to step up big time. If Allen also gets ultimately ruled out, Cleveland will look for Evan Mobley to do most of the heavy lifting again, particularly in the frontcourt.
