Many NBA fans were surprised by the Cleveland Cavaliers’ rise to NBA relevance when they started the season strong. Nobody expected them to start the season with a 15-game winning streak that would position them at the top of the Eastern Conference.
The incredible chemistry the Cavaliers roster fostered throughout the season is a major factor behind their success. Everyone —from Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley to the athletes at the end of Kenny Atkinson’s rotation—has bought into the system the head coach brought to the squad.

While it’s a consensus among every NBA fan that the Cavs would make the NBA Finals, it was still a delight for their fans when the team comfortably brought down the Miami Heat to book their playoff seats with still a month of basketball left to play.

The Cavs’ February 5 game against the Heat wasn’t easy as they edged a surprisingly competitive Miami team by just five points.
Mitchell had to pull off an incredible game to beat them, ending the night with 40 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Meanwhile, Bam Adebayo’s 56-point performance made sure Erik Spoelstra’s team was within striking distance the entire time.
Once the win was secured, fans couldn’t help but gush over the team’s third-straight postseason appearance.
“Man I can’t wait to watch the Cavs in the playoffs, nothing better,” one fan wrote on Twitter/X. “Favorite sport favorite team. Don’t take it for granted. Especially in Cleveland.”
“im so proud of them 🥹🥹🥹 this is my first season really loving basketball (ive always loved the cavs but usually only watch the playoffs!) and im having SO MUCH FUN,” another supporter gushed.
“This Cavs team is crazy right now. Being tested and getting everyones best right now. We’re having some struggles and giving up leads but ultimately finding ways to battle back and win. These will be huge for the playoffs,” another fan noted, emphasizing the Cavs’ win despite the players not being in their best shape.

Their next five games aren’t the hardest, but the Bucks and Magic will make their lives difficult. The Cavs need to take down these strong teams to secure their top seed in the playoffs, and the team seems to be ready to finish the season strongly.
