The Cleveland Cavaliers have made a number of big moves in the offseason, including the signing of center Jarrett Allen to a three-year $90.72 million veteran contract extension. There is a trade restrictions on Allen but that will only be in effect until January 31, 2025.
That means even with his new contract, Allen can be a trade target soon, though, he is now a much expensive get. Spotrac estimates Allen to get around $30 million per season beginning in the 2026-27 campaign when his extension kicks in.

Jarrett Allen thus becomes eligible to traded on Feb. 2, 2025 … four days before next season’s deadline. Rest assured that the Cavaliers’ proverbial phone will continue to ring with Allen interest, as it has for years, given the ongoing belief leaguewide that Evan Mobley and Allen are a suspect long-term fit as a duo.
Allen can bring a lot to the table for any team. His size, rebounding, and rim protection are qualities teams can covet once he’s available for a trade. Whether the Cavs would actually put him on the trade block is a different topic of its own.
Before signing Allen to an extension, the Cavaliers extended star shooting guard Donovan Mitchell and big man Evan Mobley.
In 77 games in Cavs uniform last season, Allen, a former Texas Longhorns star, averaged 16.5 points, 10.5 boards, and 1.1 blocks while finishing 10th in the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award voting.
