Darius Garland is not going anywhere. The Cleveland Cavaliers point guard has already squashed rumors about him wanting a trade, as he recently said that he has no desire to get moved out of The Land per Chris Fedor of cleveland.com (h/t Robby Kalland of UPROXX).
“I don’t want to be traded,” Garland told cleveland.com during an exclusive interview before exiting the arena late in the fourth quarter Sunday afternoon. “Those are just rumors.”
“It’s always good to see one of our guys get the money they deserve and know he’s going to be back with us for a while,” Garland said. “I was excited. I was excited for him.”
Darius Garland staying put with the Cleveland Cavaliers

Garland’s statement came on the heels of the Cavaliers finding a new coach in Kenny Atkinson and signing his backcourt mate Donovan Mitchell to a new extension deal worth $150.32 million for three years.
The Cavaliers have a fresh start ahead of them with a new coach but with still the same old core four of Garland, Mitchell, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen.

Although Cleveland was not able to get past the second round of the last playoffs, they can still be expected to be a big thorn in the sides of some of the powerhouses in the Eastern Conferences like the Philadelphia 76ers, New York Knicks, and reigning NBA champions Boston Celtics.
In the 2023-24 NBA season, Garland racked up averages of 18.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 6.5 assists through 57 games while shooting 44.6 percent on his attempts from the floor.
