The Cleveland Cavaliers have some big decisions to make soon. They have already made one when they let go of head coach JB Bickerstaff following a second-round exit from the 2024 NBA Playoffs after losing to the Boston Celtics in five games.
Apart from finding a new head coach, the Cavs are also being monitored by the rest of the league, as it’s going to be interesting what moves they’d make with the likes of Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen, and even Evan Mobley who have all been generating trade buzz in varying degrees.
The Cleveland Cavaliers’ stance on their top players amid trade buzz

However, according to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, the signals he’s getting point to the Cavaliers standing pat.
Despite a wealth of interest in both Garland and Allen on the trade market, Cleveland is not expected to entertain trade offers for any member of its core four at this time, sources said, while a league-wide expectation only grows that Mitchell will sign a contract extension with the club that acquired him from Utah back in September 2022
Garland has four more years remaining on his current deal; Allen has two more years; Mitchell has two more, though, he has a player option for the 2025-26 NBA season. As for Mobley, his 2024-25 club option worth $11.22 million has already been picked up by the Cavs. He is set to become a restricted free agent at the end of next season.
The Cavaliers could move forward without blowing up their roster by means of trading one or more of their core four in the offseason. They went 48-34 in the 2023-24 campaign and finished fourth overall in the Eastern Conference standings.
