After consecutive surprising wins over the Denver Nuggets and the Golden State Warriors, the Los Angeles Clippers have seemingly cooled down, as they have since suffered back-to-back losses. That includes Thursday night’s disappointing 125-119 loss to the Phoenix Suns.
The Clippers had a lead of as many as 21 points in that contest, but squandered all of that, as they failed to stop Devin Booker and company from turning things around and completing a come-from-behind victory.
Clippers head coach Ty Lue rued the mistakes his team made and the indecision on offense that helped the Suns come back and steal another victory in Inglewood.
Via Clippers beat writer Joey Linn:
Ty Lue: “Our margin for error is very slim. We can’t turn the basketball over… And we have to take good shots. Each possession matters… We gotta play smarter, and we gotta be better.”

The Los Angeles Clippers got frustrated by the Phoenix Suns

Against the Suns, the Clippers shot 48.4 percent from the floor and hit only 12 of their 35 attempts from behind the arc. Los Angeles also committed a total of 14 turnovers which were turned into 25 points by the Suns. There appears to be a lot to figure out still for the Clippers, who remain without Kawhi Leonard.
But as shown by LA’s win against the Nuggets and the Warriors, this is a team capable of keeping up with the best in the league with or without The Klaw. With James Harden leading the attack and Lue hopefully making the right adjustments soon, the Clippers could start winning again, perhaps as soon as this Saturday against the dangerous Oklahoma City Thunder at home.
