Cooper Flagg got plenty of advice from former NBA stars like Lou Williams and Jay Williams in a recent episode of ‘Run It Back’ on FanDuel TV. Flagg recently completed his first year in college basketball with the Duke Blue Devils. While he was initially touted to be an NCAA champion with the team, Duke lost to the Houston Cougars in the Final Four round of March Madness.
While Flagg has not announced anything officially about his ideas for the future, the shooting guard is expected to play one more year with the Duke Blue Devils. However, Lou Williams was having none of this and encouraged Cooper Flagg to apply for the NBA draft immediately. According to Williams, waiting one more year for the draft might tarnish Flagg’s chances in the NBA.
“He gotta get in line for him to the face of the the league… You got some work to do. For you to be the face of the league, you ain’t going to be able to do it in a college uniform. I got news for you, Cooper Flagg. Whatever team you’re ducking, they’re gonna be there next year too. They’re not gonna be great, so whoever you don’t wanna play for right now, they’re still gonna be in a whirlwind of the Cooper Flagg sweepstakes.” Lou Williams said on ‘Run It Back’ on FanDuel TV.

If Cooper Flagg does apply for the 2025 NBA Draft, he will be among the top picks. In his recent year with the Duke Blue Devils, Flagg managed 19.2 points in each game as on average, grabbing 7.5 rebounds and assisting 4.2 times in every matchup played.

Cooper Flagg Should Opt For NBA Now According To Chandler Parsons
Lou Williams was not the only former NBA player who supported the idea of Cooper Flagg playing in the league in the upcoming season. Chandler Parsons also spoke about this very same idea on ‘Run It Back’.
“If I’m Cooper Flagg, I already skipped a year in high school. Why would I waste another year before I get that 250, 350 million deal in the NBA when I’m ready now? When he declares, he’s guaranteed 50, 60 million dollars.” Chandler Parsons said about Cooper Flagg on ‘Run It Back’.

Parsons’ reasoning is that Flagg may lose this golden opportunity to make those bucks if he chooses to play one more year of college basketball. It is still not confirmed as to what Flagg’s decision on the matter is.
