Luka Doncic has moved on from the Dallas Mavericks, whether Mavs fans wanted it or not. The Slovenian superstar recently talked about his thoughts on his new home, and his response would break the hearts of those who fell in love with his play at the American Airlines Center.
While the man the team got in exchange is a terrific player, his lack of availability may make the team’s win-now move for him look like a sorry move if it doesn’t pan out. While there are rumors of Kyrie Irving signing a new deal with Dallas in the offseason, nothing is certain until pen is put to paper.

With that being said, Mark Cuban may still be processing the trade that sent his star boy to one of his team’s biggest rivals.
Mark Cuban gets honest about seeing Luka Doncic leave the Dallas Mavericks despite the rise in his net worth

Cuban talked about the trade in a recent Your Mom’s House appearance, and he didn’t mince words on the hurt he felt when Nico Harrison sent Luka to Tinseltown.
Per Fadeaway World’s Vishwesha Kumar:
“It’s just brutal, it’s painful no matter how you look at it. It’s like talking about a pet dying; I’m in mourning kind of, still. But they paid me to buy the circus, so I just look at my bank account and feel better.”
Cuban was instrumental in bringing Doncic to the Mavericks, orchestrating the 2018 Draft Day trade with the Atlanta Hawks to get him with the third overall pick. However, his decision to sell the team to the Adelmans in 2023 kept him away from having a say on major basketball decisions.
While Cuban’s self as a basketball fan is hurting, his pockets are thanking him. The Shark Tank judge is currently worth around $5.7 billion, thanks to the $3.5-billion sale of the team he purchased for $200 million in 2000.

Whether the money in his pockets would be worth the pain caused by the Luka trade is something only he could answer himself.
