It’s been a rough 2024-25 NBA season for the Dallas Mavericks, and it would be understandable if Klay Thompson wants to leave since this is not what he envisioned when he joined the team last summer.

However, Thompson said he is not giving up on the Dallas Mavericks and is determined to lead them back to “glory.”
“It hurt, obviously, Kyrie being out for, you know, 10-12 months. We know he’s gonna come back stronger. I’m not worried about him because I’ve seen his work first hand and it’s some of the best I’ve ever seen. So it sucks to be without him this year. We still have big goals, we still want to make a run. The injuries have been awful, but I still love our team,” Thompson told reporters via ClutchPoints’ Joey Mistretta.

“I still believe in this franchise,” Thompson continued. “I’m here for two more seasons after this, so I’d love to help them return to glory that they were brought to in 2011.”
Klay Thompson is stepping up for the Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks secured a 133-129 win over the San Antonio Spurs despite only having eight players available, and Klay Thompson played a huge role in the road victory.

The four-time NBA champion registered 26 points and three assists on 8-for-14 shooting from the field and 7-for-7 from the free throw line in 36 minutes.
Thompson scored 17 of his 26 points in the second half, which allowed him to score at least 25 points for the third time in his last four appearances.
