The Dallas Mavericks did everything they could to stop the Boston Celtics from getting the 2-0 series advantage in Game 2. However, they couldn’t stop Jayson Tatum from using his gravity to get teammates open and end the game with a 105-98 final score.
Things might finally turn for the Mavericks as they return to the American Airlines Center to play Games 3 and 4 in front of their fans. The Mavs know they cannot just let Luka Doncic take the brunt of the burden to bring the Mavericks back into the series.

Doncic has been the only bright spot for Dallas in these two games the Mavericks have played so far. Due to his importance, no one will place the blame on him for the loss.
However, the Slovenian superstar refuses to brush off his shortcomings and got honest with his performance in Game 2.
Luka Doncic owns up to turnover problems as a major factor for the Dallas Mavericks’ loss

Doncic took a lot of accountability for the way his team lost Game 2. While the final score was a lot closer than last time, he made it clear that his carelessness with the basketball cost them a shot at winning a game at the TD Garden Center.
Per ClutchPoints’ Jay Postrado:
“I think my turnovers and my missed free throws cost us the game. I’ve got to do way better in those two categories. But at the end of the day, we gotta make shots to win the game,” the Mavericks star said.
It’s true that turnovers can be costly at this point of the postseason. In a series where every small advantage can spell the difference between lifting the Larry O’Brien trophy or doing it all over again next year, his eight turnovers can spell a lot of trouble for a team like the Mavericks.

Fortunately, Luka Doncic has what it takes to negate his carelessness with the ball. He finished Game 2 with 32 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists, and four steals. He needs Kyrie Irving and the rest of his teammates to step up their production to turn the series around in the next two games.
