Nobody knows if Dallas Mavericks fans will ever get over the mega-trade that sent Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers. While Anthony Davis is a fine addition to the squad, Luka perfectly captured the hearts and minds of fans with his play and personality.
Former majority owner Mark Cuban is one of Luka’s biggest advocates throughout the ordeal. Their relationship remains friendly despite the messy breakup, and it would make sense to see their connection to remain for the rest of their lives.

While the Shark Tank host didn’t have the final say in the controversial trade, fans still chastised him for his decision to sell the team, a move that eventually allowed the trade to happen.
He got into a verbal fistfight with a former Mavs employee over the Doncic trade.
Mark Cuban gets heated with a former Dallas Mavericks employee over the Luka Doncic trade

Front Office Sports posted about Cuban’s argument with one Gavin Mulloy on Facebook. Mulloy wrote on his page that the billionaire should be “run out of Dallas” for the messy Doncic saga.
Cuban fired back with asking Mulloy about the bonus he got for selling the team. The former Mavs employee responded that he would give Cuban’s “dirty money” if it meant getting Luka back.
The response had Cuban going on an epic tirade that justified his logic of selling the team. He started with the sacrifices he made for the franchise:
I did every damn thing I could for 23 years. Kept prices lower than not only any NBA team, but lower than college teams too. I had $2 tickets for multiple years. When I sold, there were always 4k tickets under $29.
I made money 2 out of the 23 years I was the majority owner. Lost hundreds of millions of dollars. And you kept on collecting your salary.
He then claimed that he was right in selling the team all along:
I didn’t want my kids and family to have to deal with people like you. I honestly got tired of the growing number of fans who became pricks on social media. People exactly like you.
He then said that he had no involvement in the trade and still got the blame for the trade. He finished the statement by thanking him for confirming his decision.

It will be a tense couple of months for Dallas as they try to navigate the remainder of the season and the upcoming offseason without Luka. The fractured relationship between the owners and fans will also be a tough road. Neutrals can only hope that things eventually get sorted sooner than later.
