The Dallas Mavericks have been in the news for all the wrong reasons as of late, especially in bringing in Anthony Davis and trading out Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers. Jason Whitlock, sports analyst, recently discussed the same in his podcast ‘Fearless with Jason Whitlock’.
Whitlock went on to comment that the move might end up biting the Mavericks in the wrong place, and this might instigate Mark Cuban to take up controlling ownership of the team once again. Cuban owned the company for about two decades and ended up selling the majority stake to the Adelson families and Patrick Dumont, losing his controlling rights.
Interestingly, Miriam Adelson who is also called the ‘governor’ of the Mavericks, has made many strides in the gambling and casino business, where her family has mainly made their money. Whitlock mentioned that Adelson does not care about basketball, and only cares about gambling, with the Dallas Mavericks.
“Miriam Adelson doesn’t care about basketball. She wants this gambling thing. Once she gets it, watch. Mark Cuban will return as the owner of the Dallas Mavericks.” Jason Whitlock said on ‘Fearless with Jason Whitlock’.
“Nico Harrison, who’s running the Mavericks, he worked at Nike for a long time. I think 19 years. His claim to fame was he was tight with Kobe Bryant, and he was one of Kobe Bryant’s handlers. But his real claim to fame at Nike was blowing their recruitment of Steph Curry. He’s the perfect kind of guy that you install to oversee the demolition of your franchise. He’s disposable.” Whitlock said about Dallas Mavericks general manager, Nico Harrison.
Whitlock went on to comment that Adelson would surely make a blunder with the team and this would eventually prompt Mark Cuban to take controlling ownership of the team once again and be in turn labeled a ‘conquering hero’.

Dallas Mavericks To Lock Horns With The Philadelphia 76ers Next Up
Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks will be taking on the Philadelphia 76ers next up to continue the NBA schedule. The Mavericks are ranked eighth in the Western Conference and have won 26 games so far and lost 24 this season.

Most recently, the Mavericks played against the Cleveland Cavaliers and lost the game with a final score of 144-101. In that game, Jaden Hardy led the team’s scoring with 21 points, grabbing three rebounds and assisting twice, while Kylor Kelly added another 12 points to the team’s total. The Mavericks will try their best to beat the struggling 76ers and move up the ladder.
